On the 26th of July 1890 in Imperial White Russia, a child was born who was destined to become one of the greatest pioneers of Namibia. His earnest and successful efforts made the Agricultural, Mining, Fishing and Commerce industries - with a vision and foresight to apprehend the future; strength and courage to combat the challenges which pioneers must face and, above all, wisdom, understanding and generosity to earn the respect of its people.
